Hey Brandon….nice checklist!! Thank you…..quick question about your rig; can you hit that far with your NID? I am getting close to pulling the trigger (no pun intended on NV). Its just so damn expensive and if I get one will probably need 3 total (brother and his son). Then you have 3 people that are blood and care about each other. Not sure if you’ll see this or not. Even in the day 600 is pretty impressive with your setup. I’m sure HK/AR isn’t cheap either. I think we are running low on the stop watch. Again thanks for the tips.!!
I can hit a chest sized target at 600 yards pretty regular with 77 grain HPBT rounds during the day. At night, no, not a chance. Maybe with a PVS-27 and a really solid IR illuminator, like a SPIR. With a PVS-14 you are going to be limited to around 100 yards, may 150, and that’s with illumination. I have tested the PVS-14 with a clip on device on a Nightforce scope, and it does work, but I worry about shooting with it on because the recoil could damage the device and that’s thousands of dollars down the drain. The PVS14 is for navigation at night and close quarters combat. My dream setup would be to run my PVS-14 on my helmet and have a sold thermal scope on my rifle, which would probably run another $6000 at least. I’m not a rich guy, but if you have the money that would be my suggestion.
Thanks for the info Brandon. No that’s going to turn me upside down. Its hard to believe my own story and that this is really happening. I have several credit cards with $0 balance on them that would achieve everything you mentioned easily. Still everyday I pay off the balance which really makes no sense if one assumes the financial system is going to be blown to hell. We all hold on to normalcy in our own way. I guess I’m waiting for the point of no return but that may be come too late and it also may go unseen. There’s lot of vectors of civilized interruption swirling about. Eerily similar to the 4 Horsemen. I don’t think we can avoid them all. God Bless sir!!
I would avoid unnecessary debt wherever possible, but preps are worth the spending now if only because prices will be so inflated tomorrow it will be impossible to buy many items in the near future.
