Some Americans might take it for granted, but most of the world’s civilians do not have access to firearms for personal self defense. Furthermore, there are many scenarios in which even Americans might not have the option of carrying a gun for protection. Does this mean you have no other options? Not necessarily. In fact, there are many available alternatives for combat and conceal carry that can make you almost as deadly for anyone trying to harm you or control you. Protection without firearms simply requires a little more thought and perhaps a little extra training.
From projectile weapons, to bladed weapons, to blunt weapons and empty hands, it’s not that hard to build a self defense kit that makes you a force to be reckoned with. In the next installment of the Wild Bunch, I will be discussing the weapons I would stock and carry if I was in a place where guns are out of reach.
