The Q&A portion of the Wild Bunch Dispatch will be held on this page from 6pm to 7:30pm (Mountain Time) today. Any questions you might have on the 68th issue (Survival Technology That Preppers Should Stock Right Now) please post here and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. Some ground rules:
1) Please stick to the subject matter of the newsletter.
2) This is not a debate forum. If you have some concerns I’m happy to address them, but I can’t get into a long circular debate while other people have questions.
3) If I do not respond to your question immediately, don’t freak out. I’ll get to it, don’t worry.
4) Try to keep to one or two questions each time you write a post. Please refrain from essay-long multi-question posts. It is much appreciated.
I will begin discussion at exactly 6pm Mountain time. Looking forward to your questions and thoughts on the Wild Bunch Issue #68. If you missed out on this discussion you can still subscribe for the next issue and participate. For more information on how to subscribe, visit the link HERE.

I would put counter-surveillence devices on the list if you’re part of a local CPT. Also what do you think about having a 3D printer as a part of your survival tech stash?
It depends on your situation. I think at the very least a device that detects active GPS tracking chips would be very useful, especially if you have “battlefield pick-ups” that you are unsure about. I would not be surprised if a well funded military used GPS chips to track goods and equipment as a way to discourage a rebellion from using that equipment against the regime. RFID is not as big a threat because it is passive and does not transmit. Also, if things are getting crazy, dump all your cell phones immediately.
I also remember in issue 1 you mentioned a DNA tracing device that can be used for vetting people wanting to be in your group from outside the community.
There’s no DNA device for home use, but you can send DNA in to a service that can trace it to a certain family tree. It could help to vet agents posing as liberty people and lying about their names or identities. Other than that, if someone claims to be “Ex” FBI or DoD or CIA, etc., then they are more than likely still a fed and should not be trusted. They are trying to cover their butt in case you do a background check on them.
A dehydrater and vacuum sealer are some more useful gadgets to have around in hard times. I have both of these and I use the dehydrater quite a bit for my herbs.
What would be your top item to run off a solar power system? Is it worth the expense to have a big battery bank?
I think a small chest freezer (7 cubic feet)is my top item to run on solar power. Meat stores for up to two years if you use vacuum bags, which is a big advantage if you hunt or if you are stocking meat for emergency rations. Meat is rising in price exponentially lately due to inflation. Also, the establishment doesn’t want us to have meat for some reason (I’ve published my theories on this in the past). You’ll need around four 100AH 12V batteries to be safe, and if you are running lithiums that’s probably all you will ever need for most things. If you have a natural water source on your property I would also suggest getting a small electric water pump. The good ones use around 1200 watts.
Is there any software I should download that would be useful if the grid goes down?
There is some text encryption software online that I suggest downloading. This can be used post-collapse to encrypt messages if needed. Also, any ham radio software like programming software. There are apps that your can get for long range shooting as well that are really nice to have. Beyond that, I would get an external hard drive and download as many solid informational survival videos as you can find, especially those that teach food production, raising animals, fixing things, and so on.
