Global Instability And The Rise Of The “Great Resource Grab”

July 15, 2024

This article was written by Brandon Smith and originally published at Birch Gold Group

In the past three years China has accelerated export agreements and industrial operations in Africa, becoming the continent’s largest bilateral trade partner. Given Africa’s complete lack of development and GDP, the Asian rush to cement economic ties might seem strange. However, I would argue that China is adapting to events that haven’t quite happened yet.

I’m referring to a major global shift away from interdependent markets (i.e. traditional globalism) into a chaotic period of trade “protectionism”. I’m talking about the end of the current model of export-based nations supplying goods to the west in exchange for advantageous trade deficits and access to dollars. This will be the era of what I call the “Great Resource Grab.”

I believe China is positioning itself for this era, perhaps out of desperation due to the disastrous economic decline they are currently trying to hide from the rest of the world, or maybe the CCP has been given a warning from globalist interests (China’s government has been exceedingly supportive of the IMF’s one-world digital currency push, and it makes sense that globalists would give them vital information on future disasters in exchange).

Why Africa? Because of the lack of modern development, Africa is a vast land mass loaded with untapped natural resources. China is importing billions in raw materials including vital metals from Africa and they are trying to establish infrastructure to increase the extraction of these commodities. If you’re familiar with China’s rotting domestic conditions, then you understand what is happening here – China has hollowed out their own country and they must spread into other regions to survive.

To be sure, Africa is not the only place in which the Chinese are quietly setting up camp. There are diplomatic agreements with Russia that have given them access to farm land in the north, and the Chinese have even been buying up farmland in the US (nearly 400,000 acres according to official reports). In America, anyone that questions this trend is immediately accused of “conspiracy theory” and I would argue this tells us A LOT about what is really happening.

Yes, other nations besides China are buying up farmland in the US (over 43 million acres of farmland to be precise), and frankly, no one in the establishment media is talking about it. The Chinese purchases make the news because communist nations buying resource rich land in the US makes Americans nervous; but the overall problem is being ignored. Foreign land holdings in the US dwarf those recently purchased by Bill Gates, and no one is addressing the issue.

There is a change happening on a global scale; it’s a silent race to secure as many raw resources as possible. Those who know are stacking land assets, mining assets, energy assets, fresh water sources and circling undeveloped nations like hungry piranha.

Some will claim that the Great Resource Grab is about climate change and governments positioning for impending weather calamity. This is incorrect. If that was the case then China would not be coveting Africa, a continent that would be devastated should global warming predictions ever come true (they won’t). Instead, I believe the change is about impending war, both economic and kinetic.

Global war will be the catalyst for massive trade protectionism and disruption of existing supply chains. Economic sanctions and trade embargoes will shrink exports between East and West down to nothing. And, sadly, western nations with their paper markets will be most injured by this. Our economies are mainly abstract, rooted in currencies with abstract values, equities with abstract values, and debt instruments with abstract values. All of this comes crashing down when nations start desiring physical resources over the false promises of market speculation.

In other words, what we have in the US in terms of raw commodities will be ALL we have for many years to come should the Great Resource Grab come to fruition. Buying from other countries may not be possible, simply because we will be in conflict with them, or because we won’t have anything they want. Meaning, America will have to return to production again on a level surpassing that of the 1960s and early 1970s.

To be sure, this era will be short, maybe lasting around a decade. Eventually, globalists will try to use the worldwide division and subsequent crisis as a vehicle for total centralization. They’ll say “this is why nation states are a bad idea.” They’ll argue that a one-world digital currency system and global economic governance is the only solution. During this debate the average person will face a much different consumer environment than they are used to – One of scarcity instead of plenty.

Globalists will make promises of plenty that they do not intend to keep as western populations struggle to return to domestic production.

By extension, investment in vital commodities used for production and wealth protection would be a good move. Look at what certain foreign entities, central banks and globalist companies are buying up right now and ask yourself “why?” Look at past world wars and what kinds of resources were in short supply; there is a way to protect yourself financially even in the midst of international calamity.  You just have to know some history and accept the fact that the world we live in today is not any safer than it was in the days of international conflict and government rationing.

I remember when the Media and the Left slammed Pat Buchanan for protectionism. That is where this is all heading anyway. One thing the Elite dismiss is that we all live on a finite planet with finite resources. You can’t have infinite growth on a finite planet.

There are some who have suggested that US and NATO involvement in Ukraine was meant to takedown Russia so as to take Russia’s resources.

As the article suggest, China has to keep expanding regardless of the cost because they have to oversee and try and keep happy over a billion people in their country. The last thing the CCP wants is another Tiananmen Square.

I think America should have been preparing for trade protectionism for decades and we have been told it’s some kind of great sin. Having a Plan B to global interdependency is an act of “barbarism.” They have been setting the US up for disaster all along. The globalists know where this situation is headed.

  • Jeff Martin July 15, 2024 at 11:51 am

Isn’t this what the “war” in Ukraine is all about? Lindsay “Light-in-the-Loafers” Graham said so. Trillions of dollars in raw natural resources the neocons can’t let the Russians get a hold of.

China is on the verge of financial collapse and next is civil war. China has to scarf up all the natural resources it can to keep the Chinese peasants pacified with food and jobs.

Billionaires need to keep their overseas factories producing. That takes raw natural resources. Making stuff in the US was abandoned decades ago because there was no money in it. Soon it will be Battlefield America for her raw natural resources, as well.

Banksters are buying up gold and silver like crazy. Screw the stock market and US treasuries. The ole ‘full faith and credit of the US government’ is just about toast.

It seems everyone sees the handwriting on the wall except the Main Street Jack and Jill.

Actually, what’s happening in Ukraine is the consolidation of the east, where most resources are exported and manufacturing happens. The globalists are encouraging the end of interdependency between east and west to cause a collapse in the west (and a lot of problems in the east, too). They hope to create a collapse so that the public can be frightened into accepting total global centralization a decade from now.

Question: Brandon when you say ‘They hope to create a collapse so that the public can be frightened into accepting total global centralization a decade from now.’ What will that be like, the ‘accepting’? Do you mean like how we were treated during the last few years with the birus, loc-dows, hits, and compliance issues, they’ll force centralization on us? I can’t imagine we’ll have a say. Will they herd us in a direction of helplessness were we are gonna beg them for help? And this collapse is it the 2030 depopulation agenda.

They can’t win unless people willingly submit to the system. Otherwise, there will always be rebellion. They create a collapse and then offer the one-world solution hoping the public will be desperate enough to be thankful for centralization.

“Because of the lack of modern development, Africa is a vast land mass loaded with untapped natural resources… There is a change happening on a global scale; it’s a silent race to secure as many raw resources as possible.”
    .
After the Earth’s various Empires all have their way these days and pillage everything they can get their Globalist hands on from Africa and elsewhere… then it will off to the Moon and Mars and steal whatever they got up there.
    .
The European Powers all sailed across the sea and took up residence in what was to become America. They pushed all the Native People off their lands and told them to get lost (or much worse). This has also happened to and by other Nations and other places upon the Planet. Think Greenland and Antarctica for resources.
    .
Once all that land and good stuff got occupied and banked in some elitist’s account… then it’s off to find the next resource honey pot. Find resources… take resources… use up resources… find more resources… use up more resources… find more. An endless loop of pillaging and using. Steal the gold and silver and copper and stuff and strip-mine it to hell and then leave a big mess. Of course. The corporate/governmental way. Use and abuse.
    .
I’m not saying everyone just sit in a circle and look at admire all the Earth’s resources and do nothing else. Stuff is here and needs to be put to good use.
    .
The problem is that these Empires just take and take and take… and give little to nothing in return. They are users and abusers rather than good stewards of land and resources. Think Native Americans if you want to find a culture that knows how to value and work in harmony with our Mother Nature and its bounty. And whay happened to them? Why, use and abuse, of course by the Invaders.
    .
What do you think the Space Force is all about? Protecting America from aliens with bad intent? (Note: There ARE aliens with bad intent… but the Space Force won’t do a damn thing to stop them).
    .
The Space Force is a step for United States Incorporated to start pillaging the Solar System. Manifest Destiny and all that stuff for The Indispensable Nation.
    .
And why not? If America doesn’t grab all that good stuff… someone else will, right?
    .
Hey everybody! Get your Sluice Box and hop the next flight to the Moon! Quick! The Reds are coming!…

I have been following two YouTube channels about China over the past 6 months which might seem “contradictory” but worth watching nevertheless. Bottom line, the West and China both are in big trouble but maybe in different ways or timelines, and it’s not just the floods in China, it is the unemployed college graduates. Millions of them who are now “lying flat ” or “letting it rot” the new vernacular for “don’t bother working, raising a family, getting married, or buying a house. There is no future here in China for the youth.” Then there are the “leftover women,” many single women in their 30s, with BS and MS degrees but have lost out on the chance to start a family. They’re “too old.”
    The recent posts for example:

I have a feeling that civil war will be all but inevitable if Trump loses or fails to live up to reasonable expectations

    • Rodster July 15, 2024 at 10:35 pm

There will be a Civil War regardless who wins. The country is so polarized that neither side will accept the results. The best outcome which is very sad and painful is for a civil war to happen and the eventual breakup of the United States.

China poured more concrete in 3 years than the US did in the entire 20th century. They’ve also built the longest high-speed rail network in the world. Weird way to “hollow out” your own country.

Yeah, they also printed trillions from thin air in order to do it, and most of that concrete (using resources imported from Vietnam) went into infrastructure projects that ended up imploding and being torn down or abandoned. Pouring concrete into useless infrastructure and paid for with printed Yuan is not a sign of a solid economy. Please take your CCP propaganda elsewhere. You’re not smart enough to enter this conversation.

And all of that including ghost cities and ghost factories to give the “illusion” of growth. Now those ghost cities and factories are essentially decaying because no one is using them.

    Here it comes again.
The new spanish flu already happened.
What comes next? Some years in a new “great recession”, then nacionalism, then big psy ops, the great enemy shows up, military draft, then some years of heavy hot war, then the UN comes up with some form of World Government 2.0, then the post war brings in conservative behavior, like we saw in the 1950s, then they will create again some kind of Elvis, and a rock´n roll-like movement, to shift society against family values, and so on.
I just don´t know if the same tricks will work the same way, because of internet.
