In my ongoing analysis of Artificial Intelligence and how it is performing as utility for society, my conclusion so far is that it is highly overrated. It is especially overrated when we consider how much energy and resources are required to keep these systems growing. Under the current trend, in the near future most new energy infrastructure will be used for AI, not for human beings, and yet, we have every little to show for this investment.
AI has produced little of value beyond a more powerful internet search engine and some bad YouTube videos. There have been no substantial scientific discoveries made by AI without overt human involvement. In other words, AI is just another research tool, nothing more, and often, AI is wrong in its conclusions.
However, the two areas where AI is likely to excel is in mass surveillance of the population and in military applications. In the next issue of the Wild Bunch, I will outline the most likely threats that AI will present to liberty minded patriots and how we can prepare for these dangers before they arise. From AI controlled drones to AI monitored biometric data, let’s get into the dark side of the digital future.
