Looking back on history one is immediately struck with the unsettling reality that the majority of people do not realize they are in the middle of an economic or societal collapse until it is too late (a collapse being the near or complete breakdown of primary systems that allow society to function). With the privilege of hindsight it’s easy to examine what happened during such events and say “How did they not see that coming…?” Well, the reality is that only a handful of people are ever aware of the implications of collapse in any given generation, so only a handful of people really pay attention to the signs. Everyone else is too busy just trying to live life day-to-day.
Another problem is interference by governments and so-called “experts” who are always wrong and always tell the public that everything is fine right up until the currency crashes and the shooting starts. Sadly, too many people listen to these officials without considering that maybe, just maybe, they are incompetent or they are lying. In the next issue of the Wild Bunch I will be discussing the historical patterns of collapse and what signals to look for today. Because things might seem terrible in 2023, but you haven’t seen anything yet.
