There are an endless array of opinions about patriot communications during a collapse or national crisis event among preparedness personalities. The most common theme being that the national or global militaries we might end up facing are so magically and thoroughly advanced that using any comms at all will get you killed. This is of course nonsense, but for many preppers with limited experience in radio and radio research the notion of an enemy drone or artillery battery zeroing in on you within seconds of a transmission sounds like it could be true.
There is no military technology that advanced, and the failures in the conflict in Afghanistan illustrated the limits of technology in winning wars. That said, there are definitely threats out there that could make radio communications dangerous if you don’t take some simple precautions. The mantra if the Wild Bunch is that there is ALWAYS a low tech solution to every high tech problem, you just use the enemy’s reliance on that technology against him.
In the next issue of the Wild Bunch Dispatch we will be discussing the ABSOLUTE NECESSITY of radio networks among liberty groups in the event of crisis or civil war. There will be a primer on how to build such networks as well as tips on securing more sensitive transmissions from any oppressive enemy regardless of technology. Without comms there is no rebellion or resistance. Information gathering is essential to stopping authoritarian measures. Radio is our best bet at staying connected in the fight.
