The world of preparedness is changing rapidly, faster than many of us could have even imagined 10 years ago. Technologies which we used to consider unattainable for anyone other than the ultra-rich are becoming commonplace. The average patriot with a modest salary can now get his hands on analog or digital night vision, thermal vision, range finders that can measure out for miles, extreme long range rifles and ammo (shooting a mile is now far easier to do), 256AES encrypted radios are easy to purchase and cost less than $100, longer range drones are widely available on the consumer market, winter clothing fabrics are advanced, lightweight, warm and defeat moisture, making cold weather operations more practical.
The improvements are endless and make it possible for the common citizen to fight any enemies under almost any conditions. Of course, advanced gear does not replace training and intelligent strategy, but it does make the best fighters a hundred times more dangerous.
