Issue #96 of The Wild Bunch Dispatch, Alt-Market’s exclusive newsletter covering concepts and tactics for defeating globalism, is set to be released on June 30th. The Wild Bunch is a place to explore subjects and solutions to centralized tyranny which are rarely if ever covered by the rest of the alternative media. Meaning, we talk about direct action measures along with more passive strategies.
From my experience, the majority of people in the preparedness sphere are well educated on firearms and basic self defense. Any single survivalist will have an array of guns and gear. However, one thing I have also noticed is that very few preppers put any focus or funds into optics. I’m not sure why, but they’ll spend tens-of-thousands of dollars on a pile of guns, but not a single dime on a quality scope.
Maybe the problem stems from the old wives tale that optics will “just break” and “real men only shoot iron sights,” but militaries around the world have adopted optics as a mainstay and so should we. In the next issue of the Wild Bunch, I will go though my own list of top optics for every particular job, from long range observation to hunting to close range combat. Every prepper should have at least a few high grade optics to help see the dangers ahead.

I’ve got a standard 2.5-10x40MDG scope for my AR from Osprey Global. It’s pretty compact but at full magnification you can see something in good detail at half a mile or more away. It’s also got illuminated cross-hairs that can switched between red or green and a built-in green laser that you see well over a mile away. Could use it as a makeshift reflex sight if you wanted to.
I also have a dedicated sniper rifle with a longer range scope IJK Optics. It also has illuminated cross-hairs with it’s magnification I can actually read the labels on boxcars over a mile away from my house.
