Why Do Some People Support Tyranny While Others Defy It?

August 12, 2021

By Brandon Smith

There is a fundamental question that haunts the pages of history and it is one that has never been addressed in a satisfactory manner. There are many schools of thought on why and how tyranny rises in any given society and all of them miss the mark in terms of explanations, primarily because they all allow their biases to rule their conclusions and blind them to the deeper aspects of power and conspiracy. In other words, they are willing to go down the rabbit hole only so far, and then they deny that the rabbit hole even exists.

The common assumption when it comes to autocracy or oligarchy is that people are “stupid” and easily manipulated into following compelling personalities that make promises they never intend to keep. This is a foolish oversimplification. In truth, the level of manipulation needed to lure a majority of people into dictatorship is so complex that it requires an advanced understanding of human psychology.

In our modern era, people cannot merely be ordered to submit at gunpoint, at least not right away. They must be tricked into conforming, and not only that, but they must be made to think that it was THEIR IDEA all along. Without this dynamic of self censorship and self enslavement, the population will eventually rebel no matter how oppressive the regime. A thousand year tyranny cannot exist unless a number of people are conned into applauding it, or, they directly benefit from it.

And this is where we find the true key to totalitarianism – It only thrives because there is an inherent portion of any given society that secretly loves it and wants it to exist. We might call these people useful idiots, but it is much more than that. They are not necessarily unaware of what they are doing; they understand to some extent that they are helping in the destruction of other people’s freedoms…and they revel in it. Sure, there are elitists and globalists that levy core conspiracies and seek out more and more control, but they could not accomplish much of anything without the aid of the army of sociopathic aberrations that live among us.

This strange and destructive characteristic is ever visible today in light of the covid lockdowns and the push for forced vaccinations. It is clear that there are some people out there that are overly concerned with the personal health decisions of everyone else. The science and the stats prove there is nothing for them to worry about from the virus, but they ignore the science. They thirst for the taste of power. They have become a cult which ignores all logic and demands fealty to their fraudulent narrative. They do not care about the facts, they only care that we comply.

Well, as I have said time and time again: We Will Not Comply!

And so begins the epic conflict; a tale as old as civilization itself. There are two types of people in this world: Those that want to control others, and those that want to be left alone. But what motivates the control freaks? Why are they the way they are? Lets examine some of the causes…

The Fear Engine

There are people that are driven by success, by merit, by hope, by prosperity, by faith, by optimism, by love, and by honor. And then, there are people driven by fear. There are hundreds of various fears, but only a few ways to react to any of them. Collectivists respond to fear with a desperate need to micromanage their environment; they believe that if they can dictate people and events to a certain degree, they can eliminate unexpected outcomes and be free of fear. But life does not work this way and it never will.

The level of influence these people seek is so far beyond them that it can never be attained. That is to say, they will never be satisfied until they get more. Their fears will always haunt them because fears cannot be dealt with from without, they can only be dealt with from within.

Furthermore, the things they fear often revolve around their own narcissism and are of their own making. They fear failure, but they rarely work hard enough to succeed. They fear exposure, but only because they constantly lie. They fear conflict, but only because they are weak in body and character. They fear death, because they believe in nothing greater than themselves. They clamor for dominance of their surroundings because they wrongly believe that they can cheat fate and the consequences of their own terrible choices.

The Safety Of The Mob

The issue of fear extends into the common mindset of the totalitarian and how they find safety. The idea of standing on their own two feet and standing by their principles in the face of opposition is completely foreign to them. They avoid these situations at any cost and the notion of risk is abhorrent to them. So, they instead look for a mob to blend into. This makes them feel safe in obscurity while also wielding force through collectivist action. They can feel powerful while at the same time being pitiful and weak.

These people almost always operate through large single minded groups that punish any dissension in the ranks, usually with gatekeepers that moderate the motivations of the hive.

The mob itself is a weapon, its only purpose beyond the comfort of its adherents is to destroy those people that do not hold the same beliefs or values as the controllers. There is no defensive purpose to the mob; it is an assassin’s tool, it is a nuclear bomb. And, as we have seen in every modern dictatorship from the Bolsheviks in Russia to the Fascists in Germany to the communists in Mao’s China, the totalitarian mob is capable of murdering more people than any nuclear weapon in existence, all in the name of “the greater good of the greater number.”

False Piety In Place Of Self Worth

All tyrants believe themselves to be righteous in their cause, even when they know that their actions are morally abhorrent. I have seen this dynamic on bold display during the covid mandates and the vaccine passports initiatives. Consider for a moment that 99.7% of the population is under no legitimate threat from the covid virus; they will not die from it, and in the vast majority of cases they will recover quickly from it. Yet the covid cult consistently argues that people who refuse the mandates, the lockdowns and the vaccines are putting others at risk, which is why we need to be “forced” to submit.

Most of them know according to the data that covid is not a threat, but the narrative gives them an opportunity to apply power through “moral judgment”, and so they lie, and they continue to lie about the data until they think the lie will be accepted as reality. This is a common aspect of most cults and of fundamentalist religions that have gone astray – The habit of adherents to value lies over facts and evidence not because they are trying to protect their faith, but because it affords them the chance to feel pious and superior to those they are determined to harm.

Those who disagree are labeled heretics, the lowest of the low, the unwashed terrorists. The anti-mandate crowd is thus stripped of its humanity in this way and is painted as demonic. The people who want to remain free become monsters, and the totalitarian monsters become heroes out to save the world. As author Robert Anton Wilson once said:

The obedient always think of themselves as virtuous rather than cowardly.”

The Love Of A Cage

I feel as though I understand this mindset to an extent, but it never fails to shock me the way in which people who scratch and scrape for power over others also seem to love being slaves to the system. I’m not so sure that it is ironic, as authoritarianism does fulfill some of its promises of “security” as long as the people involved are willing to trade away any impulses of liberty. If you do as you’re told at all times and serve the system without fail, then there is a good chance you will be able to hold onto the meager necessities of survival. You will live a life, though probably not a happy one.

For those that go above and beyond and cast aside all personal principle in order to further the goals of the system, they might even enjoy a modicum of wealth beyond their peers. You see, in a despotic society, the people who are most without honor are the people that are most rewarded. They don’t need merit, or accomplishment, or skills, or even brains; all they have to do it sell their souls and do whatever it takes to catch the eye of the oligarchy. They don’t have to be good at anything, all they have to do is be evil, and for some people that’s easy.

In this way the system becomes a comfortable blanket that otherwise useless deviants can be swaddled in. They wrap themselves in it and luxuriate in its warmth. They are not concerned with freedom because freedom feels cold to them. Freedom can be isolating and the existence of choice is terrifying. When all your choices are made for you there is never any doubt or internal stress. All that is required is that you wake up each day and obey.

For weak and ignorant people, subservience is a gift instead of a curse. They believe that a cage is meant to be gilded, not escaped from, and anyone that seeks escape must be crazy or dangerous. If free people exist then the slaves are forced to question their own condition and their own compliance, so everyone must be enslaved to remove any and all doubt from society. The hive mind is placed above all else.

The Defiant And Free

The little tyrants that infiltrate humanity probably look at liberty advocates as some kind of alien creatures from far beyond the bounds of their universe. They just can’t fathom how it is possible for someone to defy the system, to stand against the mob or the collective, even when they are outnumbered or when the risk is so high. They assume that it is a form of madness or a lack of intelligence; for how could anyone smart think they have a chance of fighting back against the dictatorship?

Liberty people are individualists by nature, but we also care about the freedoms of others. There is a common propaganda narrative that claims that individualists are “selfish”, but this is not the case at all. It is not enough for us alone to escape slavery, we will not stand by and watch others be forced into bondage either. We are willing to risk our lives not just to save ourselves but to save future generations from autocracy.

As the vaccine passports and mandates continue to escalate the totalitarians will find themselves even more bewildered, because each new mechanism of control will result in even greater impetus for rebellion, and frankly at this point it is going to be us, or them. They will not stop their pursuit of dominion and we will not comply, so we are at an impasse. Our two tribes cannot coexist within the same society, maybe not even the same planet.

The truth is that if voluntarism was a valued ideal then this whole fight could be avoided. If the collectivist cult was willing to accept the notion that they can choose to live in a highly micromanaged environment while others can choose to live independently, then there would be no crisis. We could easily go our separate ways. But this is not how totalitarians think: To them, all people are chattel, we are property to be staked down and reeducated until we see the light. And if we don’t see the light, we are to be done away with and erased.

This is why they are utterly to blame for the war that is coming. They cannot stop themselves from grasping for our throats and our minds. They are addicted to supremacy. They are living in a fever dream and the only drug that cools their veins is total oppression of everyone around them. I see what is coming next and it is not pretty for either side, but it will be especially gruesome for the collectivists because they cannot imagine a scenario in which they lose. They are so certain of their preeminence and the safety of their self imposed prisons that they will see failure as a phantom, a ghost that cannot touch them. It would only take a handful of minor defeats to bring them down, but this requires freedom advocates become more organized than they are.

The bottom line is this: Tyrannical systems are planned by elitists groups and governments and it is they that benefit most from the destruction of public freedoms. It is indeed a conspiracy, and the pandemic lockdowns and forced vaccine response are no exception. However, tyrannical systems could not be executed without the help of a larger psychopathic contingent of the population, and these people congregate together to make terrible things happen. It’s as if they hear a silent dog whistle as totalitarianism rises, or they smell the blood of innocent victims in the air.

Call them leftists, call them communists, call them collectivists, call them whatever you want; but know that the globalists are not our only concern. There is a wall of self absorbed and power hungry peons in the way, and they want whatever scraps they can get from the big boy’s table. They are not oblivious; they have not been tricked into doing the things they do. They are a sad and pathetic bunch but they are still dangerous in their ambitions, and they will continue to slither out of the woodwork as the covid agenda progresses.

yes indeed! its clear history is repeating and millions are going to die because stupid people couldn’t be bothered learning some history or thinking for themselves…even though all that knowledge is at their finger tips.
Unfortunately the smart people are surrounded by stupid zombies who will dob them in and even kill them for not conforming to their woke paranoias and neurosis.
Useless idiots who TPTB will murder right along with smart people who were the victims of the stupid.
Lets just hope theres a special place in hell for the stupid thats extra hot.

Hey Claude, I applaud you for expressing a feeling that I’m sure lies inside most of us.
      ..
I totally hear your frustration, and I’ve gone through a similar thought process early on in this charade where I was pissed as hell that people fell in line with this satanic Agenda. It’s crazy that so many people fell for it, but I can assure you that it’s not out of stupidity as much wittier and smarter people than me are in line, and most NOT out of greed either. They simply are too naive (because they’ve been brainwashed to believe that over the past several decades the government has been protecting them from several bogeymen), and perhaps too afraid, to consider the alternative.
      ..
Before March 2020, I believed the same. It took me a couple weeks to realize that the governments’ collective responses to the COVID situation, where they were not merely “overreacting” as many on various blogs had said early on. When I considered that possibility, after analyzing the available data, I came to the conclusion that it was scripted for power and control. Initially, I was threatened to be banned on another alternative right-wing website for posting such a “tin hat” “conspiracy theory”.
      ..
Anyway, again, I’m pissed that we’re stuck in this situation, but the reality is that we have to try to convert and educate as many of the “useful idiots” as possible to our side. I’ve been working on my mom (who has been vaccinated, along with my dad and brother) for over a year, and I think she’s finally coming around to understanding and accepting what I’m telling her as I told her that vaccinations would eventually be forced on us to stop in the stores, that the mask mandates would never end, etc. She’s in her 70s and I believe it scares her to consider that her one safe haven of trust in the system of a “free-est” civilized nation is crumbling.
      ..
Beyond the practical aspect, I further believe that we must remain pure of heart. In other words, the useful idiots (as the globalists’ call them), are our brothers, sisters, cousins, parents, kids, and friends. In essence, it encompasses humanity. The Bible tells us to love our fellow man. That’s not an easy thing to do when your fellow man perhaps may try to kill you or turn you in to the authorities (as I’m sure will happen) or verbally fight with you and blast you for not wearing a mask or properly distancing (as has happened to me on several occasions). And I’ll of course do what I have to do to protect my family, which may include having to use deadly force.
      ..
In sum, I feel pity for them and will pray for them, and not to be too preachy, but I hope in time that you and others who feel hate towards them can do the same as I strongly believe that we will win this battle, not simply because we are right and just, but because we are good people, and that God favors the good.

I agree, Barry. When negotiation and petition fail, might makes right. In a system of checks and balances which has been compromised in favor of unilateral control, I defer to a phrase from Frederick Douglass:

“Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.”

Fighting a conventional war against a guerilla opponent will guarantee loss. Those who oppose totalitarianism would be best served by networking with trusted individuals, reconciling freedom over comfort, and putting one’s mind, body and soul in a place where no matter what happens to one’s physical presence, they’ll still be at peace. A day may come where an individual may be faced with the specter of dying on their feet, or living on their knees. That situation may not look anything like they envisioned and will require split second thinking and decision-making. Those who fail to plan, plan to fail.

@Brandon … I too wouldn’t characterize individuals as innately “selfish”, but I definitely believe we all act in our own self interests.

  • David Homer August 12, 2021 at 8:54 am

Brandon, I agree with you completely about the complexity of our situation. Many of the controllers belong to more than one group and their goals on the road to total control are various and complex. What I have come to understand lately is the exactly what you stated in this article. The conflict we are headed for is inevitable. Those who feel we can work toward a compromise solution are wrong. The globalists have gone too far to back off now. Their fear increases as they commit more crimes against humanity. They can’t turn back and face the consequences. If we merely defend ourselves against them it will still be an all out war. There will be a ‘live free or die’ camp and there will be an accept globalist control or die camp. The two sides will fight to the death. I have found only a few people in my life who understand what is ahead of us. I think you see it quite clearly and I thank you for publishing the truth on this website.

In the book Return of the King, evil was defeated by the rejection of evil and by evil’s own greed for power.

The power it held over the living beings simply dissolved into nothingness.

      The overlords’ time is over.

“Breathe the free air, my friend.”

There is much we can accomplish together.

    Great article, Brandon.
In this road to tyranny 2.0, we must count – and this is very vicious – with willful executioners and victims.
“Defying Hitler”, a little-known and very, very interesting book by Sebastian Haffer on the rise of Nazism greatly echoes the times we are living in:

One of your best posts ever!

  • Gauntlet33 August 12, 2021 at 12:50 pm

Hey Brandon, I agree, best post ever!
    ..
There’s so many points I would like to pick out, but I’ll go with these:
    ..
“They fear failure, but they rarely work hard enough to succeed. They fear exposure, but only because they constantly lie. They fear conflict, but only because they are weak in body and character. They fear death, because they believe in nothing greater than themselves. They clamor for dominance of their surroundings because they wrongly believe that they can cheat fate and the consequences of their own terrible choices.”
    ..
Great paragraph. I would sum it up and say that the problem with all these narcissists is that they are megalomaniacs like Nero and Caligula. The problem with that level of ego is that NOTHING is ever enough. A billion dollars? I need 100 billion. Richest man on the planet worth a trillion dollars with all the luxuries the world may provide? Still not good enough…must control (and actually hurt) others to feel true power.
    ..
“For weak and ignorant people, subservience is a gift instead of a curse. They believe that a cage is meant to be gilded, not escaped from, and anyone that seeks escape must be crazy or dangerous.”
    ..
Yes, it’s incredible that many people seek the “comfort” of a prison when they may seek the liberty of being on their own. I’m reminded of examples where I heard that highly intelligent animals like elephants and dolphins when caged at the zoos will pound their heads against the walls in order to try to escape. Even they would prefer to die than be trapped forever.
    ..
“Liberty people are individualists by nature, but we also care about the freedoms of others. There is a common propaganda narrative that claims that individualists are “selfish”, but this is not the case at all. It is not enough for us alone to escape slavery, we will not stand by and watch others be forced into bondage either. We are willing to risk our lives not just to save ourselves but to save future generations from autocracy.”
    ..
Totally agree here. Real liberty-minded Patriots will stand up for the fellow neighbor. We will not allow others to be dragged into the “detainment” camps and expect to sleep well at night knowing that we could have done something and instead idly sat down and witnessed such a horrendous torture of others’ liberties.
    ..
“voluntarism” = liberty/freedom to make our own choices; people either understand and accept that, or they are part of the problem.
    ..

    Hammer meets nail again…

I would like to add one thought for consideration. This so-called “vaccine” is often called experimental. I think that is wrong. The bankers never leave anything to chance, and this “experimental vaccine”, should it go wrong, would totally destroy their plans.

I am 100% sure that this vaccine is NOT experimental. There are hundreds of thousands of people that go missing every single year. It is a fair bet that some or many of them were abducted to participate in the experiments with the vaccines. Now the bankers know, because they have done the testing, exactly what this vaccine will do. And the time frames that the deaths will happen in.

I have read elsewhere that some DHS “inside source” (yeah, right) said that they were expecting about 300K deaths a months from the vaccine and they would be covered up using a new “variant” to be called Epsilon.

I say it is time to just get out of the way. Support and feed yourself if possible. The window of opportunity for freedom will only open AFTER the mass die-off caused by the vaccine. Fortunately, that die off will be the majority of the people addressed in this article.

Now is not the time to fight. Now is the time to survive to fight another day when the window opens and the odds shift our way a little bit.

Brandon Smith August 12, 2021 at 2:44 pm

I merely call them “experimental” because no long term testing data has ever been released to the public. I also suspect that the makers of the mRNA vaccines know exactly what the long term side effects will be.

      • Bob August 15, 2021 at 4:51 am

I think it’s possibly counterproductive to emphasise the “experimental” nature of these things, because it means if the FDA approves them we lose a big part of our argument against them.

Best to focus on big pharma and CDC’s efforts to ignore therapies such as HCQ because a vaccine can only be authorised for emergency use if no treatments are currently known.

Brandon Smith August 15, 2021 at 5:08 am

I disagree. The vaccines are still experimental regardless of what the FDA says. Until there is extensive long term testing on par with previous vaccines (10-15 years) I will continue to call them “experimental”. Don’t think that playing semantics will do anything to solve this situation; we are WAY beyond that nonsense. You need to call it what it is.

        • Marco August 15, 2021 at 12:30 pm

          Hi Bob & Brandon,
Both good points, people have to be informed that they are taking part in a medical experiment before taking the jab, and that taking part in a medical experiment could void their life and / or health insurance. Giving informed consent is based on being informed, not on being dis-informed.
To point out that the EUA is based on lying about the mortality of this Coronavirus-flu and lying about the effective treatments available; high dose Vit D, Vit C, Zink & Magnesium supplements, HCQ and Ivermectin will enable people who get infected to survive and to live well beyond the average life span…

        • Dr Latus Dextro August 18, 2021 at 4:48 pm

Bob, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck …
All current jabs against an alleged (as yet to be isolated) virus as defined by the CCP and an invalid public screening tool (PCR) are novel, experimental and are not legally defined or listed on the current vaccine schedule of the CDC, nor do they have an associated ‘vaccine information statement’ available or published on the CDC site(see Dr Latus Dextro comment below).
Like it or not, you may be an non-consenting, coerced, unwitting participant in an experiment, contrary to the Nuremberg Code (1947) and countless other similar international statements since. The data and results of this experiment will take years to emerge. Thus far, I consider the data that has emerged terrifying. It presents an urgent absolute reason to immediately discontinue the experiment, and provide compensation to those adversely affected (n= approx. 600,000 and growing) or murdered (n= approx. 12,000 and growing). In Europe, the figures stand at approx. 2 million and approx. 20,000 respectively).
And keep in mind, the absolute efficacy of the jab sits around the 1% mark, with an NNV of >200. (Lancet; Commentary: 2021)

        Hi Brandon,
Excellent article and thank you for this.
I don’t know if you had the opportunity to read
“The Banality of Evil” by Hannah Arendt. She wrote this after her interviews with Albert Speer (Hitler’s architect) when he came out of prison. Basically she was looking to discover how the Germans as ordinary people were motivated by Hitler etc
I think you will get some insights into what is happening.

        • Serge August 17, 2021 at 6:39 pm

Indeed, Excellent book written by H. Harendt. I have a big book by H. Arendt dealing both with Eichman, totalitarianism and imperialism.
Very, very interesting about the roots and characteristics of totalitarian regimes.

Why Do Some People Support Tyranny While Others Defy It? – very adroitly summarized, thank you. The Left has already slaughtered its way through 100 million and counting in the 20th and 21st Century. It is beyond time that the 1848 Marx/Engels murderous failed experiment and its toxic divisive new age derivatives were expunged from civilized discourse and the body politic.

The US CDC site does not list any mRNA/DNA injection in the current US vaccine schedule. https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/vis/current-vis.html
By legal definition, this novel, unconsented, experimental injection is NOT a vaccine. The developers knew the flaws but went on with development anyway.

I have been dwelling on the nature of the ‘Aliens’ among us for some time and actually arrived at some conclusions.
There are true sociopaths among us such as the Gates, Schwabs, Bezos, and infinite, ad nauseam, but as Brandon notes these by themselves are wholly incapable of establishing any real control over the remainder of a populace. However, the is a second, separate class consisting of people whose fundamental opportunism is basically 152 on a 0-10 scale. These are instant to instant, every day looking for the slightest opportunity to enrich themselves without consideration for any moral or ethical basis.
There is in any ‘Gang’ always a ring leader and without variance people in the second category described above gravitate towards those as surely as an Apple falls to Earth once dropped from a tree. These people appear to be able to sniff out the sociopaths like bloodhounds…and then latch onto them like leeches…damned if I can explain the psychology behind that but I have have seen it happen in my 61 years myriad times in my own life.
Those of that ilk delight in enabling the sociopaths for s a single simple reason; doing so invariably rewards them – richly – materially.
Those who love FREEDOM are anathema to both sorts since our very existence places an upper bound on thier effective reach. None who treasure thier right to decide matters in thier own sphere are quite naturally revolted by undue authority acting upon them since the Rights they consider to be unalienable thief’s are curtailed whensoever that occurs.
It is not the case that any compromise can ever be successfully established since our very existence is a huge waiting flag announcing to the World that we STAND outside thier authority…thus serving as basis for doubt – at least in the minds of the sociopaths – that they can retain thier own power base without attrition.

All collectivist ideological revolutions result in mass murder and the vast majority of those who end up exterminated are the ones that realize too late that they must resist or are part of a scapegoated (vilified) group.

I watched the wife I loved for 25 years die of cancer and we had been “prepping” for almost 10 years. It gave me perspective.
Every single one of us will step through that door to face what comes next. Preparing for the trouble to come is not about winning, or even surviving (because something is going to kill you and me sooner or later anyway); preparing for the trouble to come is all about not capitulating.

You might prove to be the tipping point that breaks the back of the overwhelming tide or just save the life of some innocent.

I am approaching 60 and my combat viability is waning indeed. However, there is something to be said for experienced, cunning and, most importantly, unafraid.

As for my late wife, I am reminded:
….the righteous die and people do not take it to heart….ISAIAH 57:1….

May our Creator continue to bless all of you that still remember Him.

“We know who you are! We will find you and we know who you are…” angry parents told a health expert who had been called in to testify in support of masking up children to start the school year. “You can leave freely, but we will find you.” NOW THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!! And it’s a good hill to die on since supposedly the masks contain graphene oxide – the supposed killer infectious ingredient in vaccines and nasal swabs. I especially love how they chanted “WILL NOT COMPLY!” https://www.zerohedge.com/covid-19/watch-parents-make-threats-after-school-board-mandates-elementary-children-mask-we-will
    ..
I’ve been banging the drum about this for perhaps over a year now that liberty-minded Patriots aren’t the only ones at risk. Many Patriots are likely on THEIR “dissident list”. Well…the enforcers of control are equally subject to attack. We too can and should actively be making lists for the many politicians, policeman, “health advisors”, etc. that try to force masks, vaccines, lockdowns, etc. And WHEN (NOT if) we actually go through with public lynchings, torching their homes, death threats and more, that will be the beginning of the end. Sure, at first, they may call for “martial law” to quell the protests, but then, as more and more killings of the enforcers go viral in the media, progressively less and less enforcers and politicians will want to stick their neck out for fear of theirs meeting the guillotine. And it’s about time…just wondering what straw will break the camel’s back although I’m sure this cold war can go on for another 2 years before it gets real hot…

    A few thoughts regarding those that seek to control the rest of us ‘for our own good’;

For many decades these people have been using every institution in our society to train people that they are incapable of reasoning and thinking for themselves. The ‘masses’ must turn to the ‘elite’ ‘experts’ not to teach them how to think but to tell them what to think.

One of the things our oppressors do better than anything else is control the narrative. Once they have control of the base line of thought and reasoning anything can be rationalized. Fight the underlying narrative before giving one inch on the down line rationalizations.

Remember that these people claim to be seeking ‘unity’ but if you ask them to define ‘unity’ you will find that their concept is actually ‘uniformity’. If you call them on it they say “but of course ‘unity’ and ‘uniformity’ are synonymous”.

Great article Brandon, thanks. I’ve been pondering that exact question for the past 18 months, it’s wonderful to have all my swirling thoughts articulated so expertly. I live in France and am horrified by what they are getting away with…and that there seems to be such limited legal/formal resistance to the tryranny. Now I’m on holiday in Zakynthos, Greece and the covid restrictions have extended to a 24 hour ban on MUSIC in all entertainment locations, it’s insane. I wanted to share with your readers some news that might give cause for some optimism. My brother Nick lives in Ecuador where the Loja provincial government came with their vax mandates and proposals etc on July 9th and in just under a month he assembled a legal team, built a website, got a petition going, took them to court and got them SHUT DOWN with constitutional egg all over their face.. Many other provinces in Ecuador are now using their approach as a template to fight the madness elsewhere and get it shut down. It shows what’s possible when you have some determination, and are on the side of right. You and your readers can find out more about it here: https://derechoshumanosecuador.com/2021/08/we-won/

    Micah 3:11
” The heads judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will lean upon the Lord and say, is not lord in the midst of us? No evil shall come upon us. ”
A crucial cog in the sociopaths plan is the control of the religious leaders. When they bowed to the gubmint directives to close down, it was a tremendous boost to where we are now. Their paychecks, pensions and 501c3 status is the reward and money for them today. One tremendous exception is Pastor Chuck Baldwin who is not 501c3.
Today they tell their sheeple that they should take the jab and no evil shall come upon them.

Most people, at least those I know, despite their intelligence, simply have never had the interest to really understand the nature of the society and civilization they inhabit and the people that “lead” it. Self governance it’s impossible for the unaware, but they remain unaware of this fact. I’ve spent my life studying our civilization, society and history. Just always been interested in that (and entering else). The truth of it, as Brandon’s commentaries so brilliantly show, was a long process of discovery. Too badly paraphrase Spock “when all other theories are eliminated, the remaining, no matter how unlikely, must be true.” The narcissistic, pathological and downright evil of those “in charge” in this world is that final true theory that ties all the observable pieces together. Those among us that haven’t spent their lives searching for understanding, simply don’t have the ability to believe this is the way of the world they inhabit.

Totalitarianism creates it’s own momentum. “Where’s your mask?” is the gateway drug for the totalitarian and those who get a taste for controlling others become intoxicated and immediately addicted and this draws other like minded little Nazis out of the woodwork. Unless dealt a swift defeat this will have to play out and run its course; think Nazi Germany without American intervention. Our society is being restructured to reward the obedient controller and punish those who just want to be left alone. The longer we put off the inevitable battles the more difficult will be victory.

Great article Brandon, thank you. Some of your reasoning concerning the psyche of the sheep correlates directly with a number of known psychological principles. One interesting study resulted in a book ” Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion” by Robert B Cialdini. Here is one summary I found (I was just looking for a summation of the principles he outlines but this is pretty good.) Source: https://slooowdown.wordpress.com/2012/09/02/summary-of-influence-the-psychology-of-persuasion-by-robert-b-cialdini/

    IN A NUTSHELL

Cialdini has identified 7 key influencers of persuasion (based on 35 years of evidence based research): Weapons of influence (aka reason why), Reciprocation, Commitment & Consistency, Social proof, Liking, Authority and Scarcity.

    1) Weapons of Influence

Reason Why – Attaching a reason to a request increases the success rate: “I have 5 pages, can I use the Xerox machine before you because I’m in a rush” had a success rate of 94% vs.60% success rate when no ‘reason why’ was given.

Showing potential customers the most expensive item first then working downwards in price leads to an increase in the amount spent (as the next products seem cheaper in comparison).

    2) Reciprocation

Social obligations – Humans inherently dislike being indebted to someone, so much so that often a small gift or favour will lead to a larger reciprocal response. This fact is exploited worldwide, e.g. Hare Krishna’s who offer a ‘gift’ of a flower when soliciting for donations (which they refuse to take back). As the receiver cannot unburden themselves from the subconscious debt, the social pressure to donate leads to a higher donation rate than merely soliciting alone. An Indian supermarket sold £1000 of cheese in a few hours by inviting customers to slice their own free samples.

Reject & Retreat – This technique consists of first demanding a high price (or a large favour), then waiting for it to be rejected, only to follow this demand up with a smaller one, (that you really wanted all along). Quote from a child: ‘If you want a kitten, first ask for a pony’ (Ed).

    3) Commitment and Consistency

We tend to remain consistent to our commitments, once we have made them (consistency is a socially attractive trait). Studies found that when people are asked if they would vote led to an increased likelihood to follow-through. This is why it is recommended to write down/verbally state our goals, as we then stand a much greater chance of sticking to them (cf http://www.stickk.com – Ed)

Households were called and asked to predict what they would do if they were asked to volunteer for three hours to collect for charity. Three days later, they were recalled and asked to collect for charity. This led to an increase in the numbers of volunteers by 700%. Its use in business was put succinctly by an article in American Salesman. “When a person has signed an order for your merchandise, even though the profit is small, he is no longer a prospect – he is a customer”

Living up to our identity – “We are what we repeatedly do”- Aristotle. We will act in ways that are consistent with our identity, beliefs and values. American

POW’s in Korea who were made into collaborators, started co-operating when they were labelled and classed themselves as a collaborator.

    4) Social Proof

People are influenced by what others do. At an unfamiliar event or situation, we look to others on the correct etiquette. This is exploited for example, in bars or at church collections. The tips/donations are sometimes ‘salted’ by having money already placed there or having a stooge give money to stimulate others to tip. This effect is amplified by how similar the person whose actions we are watching are to ourselves.

    5) Liking

As a rule, we prefer to say yes to the request of those we like over those we don’t. There are several key properties that determine our view of people: Attractiveness, similarity, compliments, contact & co-operation, conditioning and association. Studies found we automatically attribute traits such as talent, kindness, honesty and intelligence to attractive people. It is no co-incidence that ‘attractive’ political candidates received two and a half times the votes of unattractive rivals.

We like people who are similar to us, with the same views, interests, beliefs and values. We therefore need to find areas of shared interest to increase rapport and connection.

Joe Girard won for twelve years straight the title of ‘Number one salesman’, selling on average five cars or trucks a day. His formula behind his success was simple; he provided a fair price, and someone they like to buy from. One of his key tactics however was to employ the use of compliments. Every month he sent every one of his 13,000 former customers a holiday greeting card containing a personal message. The holiday greeting changed from month to month (Happy New Year, Happy Easter etc.), but the message printed on the face of the card never varied. It only read ‘I like you’.

Endless chain – When a salesman approaches the person recommended, saying “your friend recommended this for you” it increases the chance they will make a purchase. Turning the salesman away is difficult as it’s like rejecting one’s friend.

    6) Authority

The greater the perceived authority of a person, the more likely people are to comply (cf the Stanley Milgram experiments).

Hospitals have a 12% daily error rate. This is because, nurses and junior doctors will very rarely challenge the decision made by an authoritative figure, despite receiving potentially lethal, or bizarre requests.

We often perceive and interact with people with authority differently. The more power a person is deemed to have, the more generous people are when estimating their height, and the more cautious we are with our conversations.

    7) Scarcity

We are more motivated to act if we think we are going to lose something, than if we are to gain something. ‘Save £50 a month on…’ would not be as effective as ‘You are losing £50 a month on…’. An item that is scarce is more desirable than one that is freely available.

The high pressure environment, like an auction can lead an item being sold for an elevated price as the buyers fear losing out to another person.

    ***
I’ve read the book several times and always find relevance, not only to the intended audience (sales) but in general. These principles (Weapons of influence (aka reason why), Reciprocation, Commitment & Consistency, Social proof, Liking, Authority and Scarcity.) are hard-wired into our human brains.

Specifically, the controllers usurp authority, the media floods the world with massive propaganda to garner acceptance and commitment, the brainwashed gather and all agree (social acceptance) and then they refuse to budge to remain consistent.

This is not the only source expounding on these principles, however I was impressed by Ciladini’s field work – going out and actually interviewing people in real time and real life. He also lays them out in simple, easy to understand language. If anyone did it better, I’d love to hear about them.

I think all the factors you list fall into the “useful idiot” category, but there is a completely different type of person which I’m describing here. These people do not need to be sold on the idea of tyranny, they don’t need to be tricked – they LOVE totalitarian environments, and they love the feeling of control and being controlled. These mini-tyrants are much more common than many realize. It is this group of narcissists and sociopaths that truly drives the rise of dictatorship, not the useful idiots. The globalists would never get anywhere without their help.

This is one of the best articles on this topic of the year for me. Thank you so much! The kollectiv, the hive mind mentality was explored in this other article by Izabella Tabarovsky that I briefly quote below:

“How much of your own autonomy as a thinking, feeling person are you willing to sacrifice to the collective?
What inner compromises are you willing to make for the sake of being part of the group?
Which personal relationships are you willing to give up?…
“The practice of collective condemnation feels like an assertion of a culture that ultimately tramples on the individual and creates an oppressive society. Whether that society looks like Soviet Russia, or Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, or Castro’s Cuba, or today’s China, or something uniquely 21st-century American, the failure of institutions and individuals to stand up to mob rule is no longer an option we can afford. …
In a collectivist culture, one hoped-for result of group condemnations is control—both over the target of abuse and the broader society. When sufficiently broad levels of society realize that the price of nonconformity is being publicly humiliated, expelled from the community of “people of goodwill” (another Soviet cliché) and cut off from sources of income, the powers that be need to work less hard to enforce the rules.” …
You invoked the “didn’t read, but disapprove” mantra not only to protect yourself from suspicions about your reading choices but also to communicate an eagerness to be part of the kollektiv—no matter what destructive action was next on the kollektiv’s agenda. You preemptively surrendered your personal agency in order to be in unison with the group. And this is understandable in a way: Merging with the crowd feels much better than standing alone.”

Izabella Tabarovsky is a contributing writer at Tablet and a researcher with the Kennan Institute at the Wilson Center focusing on the politics of historical memory in the former Soviet Union.

      Hi Andy and Brandon,
      Great article and comments!!!
Most people are directing their lives based on (sub-conscious) survival fear, security seeking and power seeking…
For those of us who had benign parents, trust in parental authority figures is baked into us. The combo of fear to accept a threatening world view, with projecting parental authority on people with a title, or a uniform is pretty strong. Add some ego serving rhetoric, fluoride and heavy metals in the mix and many people’s minds will be too toxic to figure out much beyond believing and repeating the “news” and other “authorities”. People who dare feel and face their fears, who ask for help and / or who had a near death experience are more likely to not let fear stop them. (“I have to master my fear” quote from the movie; ‘The Golden Compass’. A must see.)
I am sure you will find the ego transcending wisdom relative to the current world situation in the book ‘Not-Two-Is-Peace’ very interesting. https://www.da-peace.org/

    • Gauntlet33 August 16, 2021 at 11:21 am

Yeah, good points. Also, re “Commitment and Consistency”, I noticed how this one worked on many last year (through cognitive dissonance), where although I was against the masks, being forced to wear one, after a few weeks of complying to shop in stores, makes you feel like “wait, I must believe there’s an actual threat if here I am wearing one every time I’m in a store”. Anyway, evil, manipulative tricks for sure, but if you’re stubborn and headstrong enough, then you can see through it.

Powerful article Brandon, thanks for writing this! It’s absolutely brilliant and a classic bit of commentary that will live on and garner deep respect. It needed to be said and gave me a galvanized sense of clarity about where I stand and why. It made my day and empowered me with admiration for all of us who champion freedom to our last breath!

This is an immense challenge because intelligent, good hearted, educated people are being brainwashed and manipulated. This global crisis reveals the almost unbelievable power of relentless propaganda, capable of controlling people who normally function at high levels of critical thinking.

They become ensnared in a web of lies from institutions they’ve trusted for decades and it’s impossible for them to imagine betrayal on a global scale. Their minds and beliefs become cemented and impervious to even the most obvious contradictions.

So I see this article as a clarion call or battle cry against what feels like impossible barriers to justice.

When people are prevented access to essential needs for survival, legally required to accept unhealthy masking, injections with unacceptable rates of death and physical harm, restricted from necessary human interaction, subjected to destruction of constitutional rights by the worst kind of tyranny imposed on an entire planet, it forces a “line in the sand”.

We are committed to everyone’s freedom. It’s a matter of enduring more than the fair and rational are willing to suffer. Get jabbed and poisoned or you can’t travel. Get jabbed or you can’t work. Get jabbed or you can’t eat with friends. Get jabbed or you can’t get a job or education. Eventually a “freedom pass” will be necessary for a drivers license, phone service, internet access and fighting for our life is a natural response.

We will prevail only because the outrageous crimes become so obvious that humanity rises up with fury and the criminals with their unwitting accomplices are overwhelmed. National and international lawsuits are gaining momentum and Nuremberg 2.0 is inevitable.

Tyranny under the guise of health at risk is especially pernicious and one of their key strategies for controlling the narrative. This is why people need to turn off CNN or FOX and do independent research. As the great documentary “A THOUSAND PIECES” declares, we have to become digital soldiers. https://youtu.be/PlUqv0MMQWg

The organized group of pyscho-killers running this nightmare make Hitler, Stalin and Mao look like local gangsters. The Nazi’s got away with industrial murder and no one seemed to notice until it was too late. Most people can’t even imagine the kind of evil that’s systematically killing an entire planet. So who knows what scale of genocide will have to become undeniable before humanity rebels.

The massive stone monument called the Georgia Guidestones declares in 8 languages that only 500 million people will be left alive from this assault on humanity. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgia_Guidestones

We’re dealing with genuine psychopathic killers who will come to justice.

Always well written work and analysis of the problem. Thank you.
You should read “The Will To Bondage” by Estienne de la Boeite. I have a feeling you may have already. One thing that has remained with me about his work (written nearly 500 years ago) was that he pointed out that humanity has always been this way. Supporting those who destroy them. And it may be this way until the race dies out.
There are difficult times ahead. In the past it was fairly easy not to draw attention and stay out of the way of the mob. This time will be very difficult. However, there are lines I will not cross. Unwilling to sell my soul for any price. The willingness of the elites and the mob to use violence to secure their position and ensure behavior of all may result in a showdown. It will be short. Unrealized goals. Probably have no effect on the herd which will keep running toward the cliff.

It’s not really all of humanity that support the oppressors, more like 10% of humanity, with another 40% that are useful idiots conned into enslaving themselves. And that is enough to create most of the authoritarian regimes of modern history. Freedom has always been fought for, but a society entirely built on freedom is a very new concept in the lifespan of mankind. The globalists know that they have to make their move for a new world order now, or it will soon be too late for them. There are too many people waking up to the truth and this is their last chance to create a global dictatorship. If they lose now, they lose forever.

“Our two tribes cannot coexist within the same society, maybe not even the same planet.”

“The truth is that if voluntarism was a valued ideal then this whole fight could be avoided. And if we don’t see the light, we are to be done away with and erased.”

Eric July’s been saying something like this for a long time now. He’s been pointing out how stupid it is to try and share a government with people who hate you and how stupid it is to keep trying to curry acceptance with such people. In particular he uses MLK Jr. and Malcolm X as examples. Both were leaders in the civil rights movement but both had radically different approaches to discrimination, equal rights and segregation. MLK wanted to gain the white mans acceptance while Malcolm proposed that blacks go do their own thing. Personally I think Malcolm had the right idea, especially in this day and age when our differences stem from ideological rather than racial differences.

Hope we hear your take on Afghanistan Brandon

I worked for the military in the middle east in the 2000’s and after hearing about Afghanistan I actually think that Cyber Polygon will go live on 11 Sep 2021. Also, it may not seem like much but I was wondering why they picked 9 July 2021 for this this years CP simulation and from 9 Jul 2021 – 11 Sep 2021 is 65 days…..Just one day short of 66 days…..

I forgot whom gave a phrase similar to :
. . . can never get enough of what is NOT NEEDED.
This is the definition of the psychological term PROJECTION.
I am not ready to accept RE-spons-ibility
for something TOO painful to me.
    I reject responsibility.
    I avoid responsibility.
    I deny responsibility.
    I deceive responsibility.
That is the beginning and continuance of NOT ENOUGH.
    It is the failure With-IN EX-perienced With-OUT.
Know thyself. Choose Love. Trust INNER voice and ACT on our BEST IN-tention. Thank you Brandon and team !

“There are two types of people in this world: Those that want to control others, and those that want to be left alone. ”
In the 19th century, John Stuart Mill wrote : “there are two tendencies. One is the desire to order, the other is the reluctance to submit to command.”
Nothing new under the sun. Only circonstances change.

Thanks for a great post. I have always believed that the vast majority willingly sacrifice “security” over freedom and this plandemic has been a perfect case in point. For those who have any doubts about how this is being played out, I suggest you read “Empire of Pain” by Patrick Keefe; it’s the same corruption and greed, the same players but on a global scale. As for any doubts you may have as to the dangers of these vaccines, there are some very interesting papers on the conculsions that can be drawn from VAERS and they show a massacre hiding in plain view (https://www.regulations.gov/comment/CDC-2021-0089-0024)

I wouldn’t say the “vast majority” willingly sell out, but at least half the population has.
