Another good article. I suggest a study of ‘triggers’ for traps. Some type of ‘store bought’ may be available but field expedient constructed triggers are easy and effective.
Yes, there are a lot of details that would probably go into an intermediate to advanced essay on booby traps. This issue was more about the basics of the tactic; when and where should it be used and some of the methods. The vast majority of Americans have no education on booby traps, and that includes military personnel. If you look at the booby trap training in the military it is very rudimentary. Some guys are trained to find them, but they’ll take a short day long or two day long class on the methodology, then move on and forget it. Really, we need to introduce the guerrilla philosophy back into American culture because this is how rebellions are won and we are centuries removed from the concept.
