The Gas Stove Scare Is A Fraud Created By Climate Change Authoritarians

January 14, 2023

By Brandon Smith

In the past I have often tried to take a big picture approach to the issues facing the American public and how there is almost always a deeper connection between a variety of political and economic events. And, what has become increasingly clear to me is that in order to understand government actions and geopolitics, you must always ask yourself “Who benefits?”

The bottom line is this – At the heart of nearly every conflict and every crisis the same group of power mongers usually benefits, and they have taken a keen interest in the climate change narrative in particular. But like I said, this is the big picture. Right now I’d like to take a look at a relatively small issue and how the little dominoes lead up to a bigger con game and a bigger disaster. Let’s talk about gas stoves…

Frankly, I don’t care about what my stove uses to cook with as long as it works. That said, around 38% of US households use natural gas for cooking and heating. That’s a significant percentage of people that rely on gas based energy for their daily needs. Here’s the problem, though – Natural gas is not politically correct these days. Nearly all carbon emitting energy sources have been marked by climate activists and western governments as a threat that needs to be erased between 2030 to 2050.

Globalist institutions and climate change grifters have put natural gas on the naughty list, but there are a couple of realities that must be addressed. First, as noted, a vast portion of the western world including the US and Europe rely on natural gas for numerous energy applications. Ban natural gas and civilization faces an immediate plunge in economic activity, as well as much higher prices on all remaining energy sources due to increasing demand. There is NO green energy solution that can fill the same roll as gas.

All you have to do is look at Europe and the UK today and see how they are struggling with vastly higher costs due to sanctions on Russian gas exports. It’s a mess, and they are lucky that the winter has so far been rather mild, because the moment things freeze, they are in trouble. There are not enough alternative energy resources available to fulfill Europe’s shortages if the temperatures plummet.

But what does this have to do with banning gas stoves in the US? Isn’t that a health issue rather than an environmental issue? No, it’s not a health issue, it’s a climate agenda issue being rebranded as a health issue.

There has been a coordinated government and media blitz on the gas stove narrative this week, with an avalanche of claims that natural gas causes everything from asthma in children to a slowdown in cognitive development. What is the evidence for these claims? The Biden Administration and the agency weighing a potential ban, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), have not given specific sources yet.

The assertions are most likely rooted in a single study published in December by the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health in December. The group is privately funded and this particular study on gas stoves was led by RMI, a non-profit research entity that advocates for aggressive green policies and works to “transform global energy systems across the real economy.” The two lead authors, Talor Gruenwald and Brady Seals, are RMI researchers who have contributed to the group’s “carbon-free buildings” initiative.

In other words, the study is written by people with a built in bias, and since science these days is now being linked to activism, no single study funded by a private ideological group can be trusted. RMI is not only part of the climate cult, they also promote “equity” theory and general woke politics. These concepts and real science cannot coexist.

The American Gas Association made this exact point in a responding statement, noting that the study’s testing did not include real life appliance usage, and:

Ignored [previous] literature, including one study of data collected from more than 500,000 children in 47 countries that ‘detected no evidence’ of an association between the use of gas as a cooking fuel and either asthma symptoms or asthma diagnosis.”

The push for a gas stove ban is not about health, it’s about control. It is an attempt to falsely link carbon emissions and energy products to negative health concerns as a way to trick the public into supporting decarbonization out of fear. But why revert to such a strategy? Is the climate cult really that desperate?

Yes, yes they are.

You see, the truth about climate change is beginning to spread to the masses, and the debunking of anti-carbon propaganda is picking up momentum. Here are the facts:

The average global temperature is not climbing to dangerous levels. The Earth’s temps have increased according to the NOAA by less than 1°C in the past century.

There is no evidence that this kind of temperature increase represents a threat to the environment or human health. In fact, the Earth’s temps have been much higher than they are today multiple times in the Earth’s history long before man-made carbon emissions were a thing. The official temperature record used by climate scientists only goes back to the 1880s – That is a TINY sliver of time in comparison to the epic lifespan of the Earth’s atmosphere.

And what about all those arguments that there are more dangerous weather patterns emerging due to global warming? That’s a lie. There is no significant difference between storm patterns today compared to 100 years ago.

And let’s not forget that global warming propaganda has been going on a long time now. Back when I was a kid in the 1980s, they used to tell us in school that large parts of continents would be under water by the year 2000. This obviously never happened and likely never will. Many of us who grew up in that era are still waiting around for the icecaps to melt.

The climate change agenda is about giving governments and globalist institutions the power to bottleneck energy usage, tax carbon emissions and thus control almost every aspect of our daily lives. Without the free flow of carbon based energy almost all industry will collapse. Green energy is inefficient and cannot fill the void left behind by gas, petroleum and coal. All that would be left is a minimal manufacturing base, minimal food production and a shrinking human population. Those that survive would be slaves to carbon restrictions; it would be a living nightmare.

There are very rich and powerful people out there that greatly benefit from such a scenario.

The globalists have been scheming to use environmentalism as an excuse for centralization since at least 1972, when the Club Of Rome, a think-tank attached to the UN, published a treatise titled ‘The Limits To Growth’. Twenty years later they would publish a book titled ‘The First Global Revolution.’ In that document they specifically recommend using global warming as a vehicle:

In searching for a common enemy against whom we can unite, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like, would fit the bill. In their totality and their interactions these phenomena do constitute a common threat which must be confronted by everyone together. But in designating these dangers as the enemy, we fall into the trap, which we have already warned readers about, namely mistaking symptoms for causes. All these dangers are caused by human intervention in natural processes, and it is only through changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome. The real enemy then is humanity itself.”

The statement comes from Chapter 5 – The Vacuum, which covers their desire for global government. The quote is relatively clear; a common enemy must be conjured in order to trick humanity into uniting under a single banner – The globalist banner. And the elites see environmental catastrophe, caused by mankind itself, as the best possible motivator.

How does this agenda start? It starts with gas stoves. It starts with something we might see as small, and then it grows from there. Pretty soon, they will be banning natural gas for heating. They will ban wood stoves. They will artificially induce gas price inflation. Then they will implement carbon taxation on manufacturers which will in turn cause prices to rise for consumers. Then there will be carbon taxes for the average individual. They will use whatever means at their disposal to make it impossible to use “fossil fuels.”

Again, it’s not about health, it’s about control. It’s always about control. The gas stove issue is a fraud; one domino in a long chain that leads to carbon totalitarianism.

If the insurance company’s refuse to insure because you have a gas or wood stove then your mortgage would be in default. Then they can foreclose and take your home Unfortunately the masses will surrender and give in to their total control rather than lose their home. This path America is on will not end because Americans as a whole refuse GOD and serve idols

Good point. Though, there will be massive lawsuits over this if they actually try to apply insurance restrictions based on one meaningless study.

    • Gauntlet33 January 17, 2023 at 9:09 am

I could be wrong, but I thought the gas stove restrictions were only for new construction? Yes, if it applies retrospectively to already-built homes, then I would also expect tons of lawsuits.

I can remember the 1990s when a link was suggested between the number of pediatric asthma cases and the number of vaccinations children were required to have to attend the public schools. Now there are more vaccinations required and there are more cases of asthma. Hmmm?

Illinois has more gas stoves and furnaces in use than Florida, while Florida has more cases of asthma than Illinois. Hmmm?

Yep, it all about control “fer shur…”

No mortgage, Ins. Co can pound sand.
Gas heat, water & stove. They would have to stop my propane truck, I guess it’s coming. LOL

I remember similar nonsense being written about wood-burning and pellet stoves a few years back. Hell, I even remember these same quacks demonizing air conditioners during the intense heat waves we had the past year or 2. Seems like every other year these environmentalist quacks go out of their way to demonize some household appliance or utility for some made-up eco-crisis.

    • Gauntlet33 January 17, 2023 at 9:12 am

The Leftist covidiots love demonizing things that are “other” to them…they’re inherently insecure people so it gives them a sense of power they desperately seek.

“… in order to understand government actions and geopolitics, you must always ask yourself ‘Who benefits’?”
‘Who Benefits’ is the easiest thing to understand about everything that goes on today in our Woke New Abnormal Not So Great Reset Regretful Order. The ‘Who’ that benefits is always THEM – the Deep State puppet masters and ‘The Rich and Powerful!’. And who never benefits is We the People.
Think about it. When was the last time these Masters of Destiny have done one damn thing that actually benefitted We the People or made your own life better? Don’t bother thinking too hard because that would take the whole rest of the day and well into next month to think of one. And then you still probably couldn’t.
“The push for a gas stove ban is not about health, it’s about control… There are very rich and powerful people out there that greatly benefit from such a scenario…it’s not about health, it’s about control. It’s always about control.”
The Rich and Powerful want to be our Slave Masters. They have ALWAYS wanted to be our Slave Masters. And to be Slave Masters… you have to have Slaves. Willing slaves, or otherwise.
This is all about brainwashing We the People into believing that we must ask permission from Big Daddy and Mommy Government for us to do ANYTHING. To get into our heads that They are our perpetual parents and we are perpetual juveniles that need to be managed and disciplined when we dare to offend Daddy and Mommy.
The idea of putting people into slavery bondage never went away — it just got moved up to a much higher income bracket. It’s no longer just old Plantation Owners living on Weeping Willow lined estates that want to own slaves in their cotton fields. It’s the Rich and Powerful who believe that They are some kind of evolved creatures that are better than We the People and thus should own and rule everything. Which is a joke because They cannot even rule Themselves and these deviant passions and twisted ideas of Theirs.
THEY see the entire World as one big field of cotton. And They see us as the empty-headed dolts that are only there to be slaves to THEM.
As long as we ‘know our place’ and don’t do any more than sing Spirituals to each other as we toil away for THEM all day long in the harsh fields of Life… all will be fine.

Otherwise… we won’t get our bowl of leftover crumbs and table scraps from ‘The Mass-ah’s’ Table and we go to bed tired and hungry. And we better be ready to go back to work for Them tomorrow with a smile.
    ‘G’Night… Daddy!’

Exactly. I totally agree. The Luciferians have been pushing the “oil comes from decomposed dinosaurs” narrative, but it’s a ruse. God made the Earth to be a self-sustaining and regenerating planet. Peak oil never happened just like a “runaway greenhouse effect” will never happen for that reason.

Someone mentioned in a comment above about insurance regulations being changed to match this particular issue. If you have a home owner’s policy, whether or not you purchased your home outright, you are subject to their policies. I saw this at one of my local auto repair shop a couple of years ago. Their insurance company (for businesses, you can not operate at all without insurance coverage) inspected their shops. One side had a wood stove, which is arguably the best way to heat a large uninsulated area. If it gets too cold, you warm your bones by the fire and receive instant and satisfying results. Well, the insurance threatened to drop them if the stove was not removed. They obliged. Now they have this gas operated space heater, ironically enough given the subject of this article.

This leads me to discussing the issue that no one, not one single person, ever brings up: Insurance. Given the now theoretical limitations on government over the individual in what they can do in their lives to prosper and achieve ‘the pursuit of happiness’, the best thing that could have ever happened for the sociopaths in the Managerial Class of government was to expand insurance to nearly every aspect of the average person’s life. From car insurance, home owner’s insurance, life insurance, health insurance, and on and on. If there is some threat out there, there is an insurance policy you can buy in order to help you sleep better at night. Insurance has simply become part of every day life in this country, and no one ever gives it a second thought.

Prior to the 1900s, insurance was something mainly relegated to transcontinental shipping. Traveling over the high seas is inherently dangerous and the cargo loads needed some sort of insurance in order to guarantee compensation in case something happened, like the ship sinking or becoming damaged en route. Historic insurance companies like Lords of London were common companies that would handle that task. So, what did people do before all of this insurance was available? What they always did: Handle their own affairs. Your home burns down, and the community rallies to build a new one. Your health fails, you either find help on your own or you die……(We all die, so why the fear of death?). You damage or injure someone accidentally, you pay for it. Can not pay for it, you work it off. Will not work for it, you go to prison. In other words, you handled your own affairs. You were independent and you knew the risks of living life in general and accepted them.

Having discovered this more than 20 years ago, I have limited what insurance I do have. I live in a rural area on 20 acres. When I purchased my home and acreage, I did so outright so I could forego any requirements for having an insurance policy on the house. No mortgage, no insurance. What about a house fire, you might ask? Your biggest problem in house fires is in the kitchen. I have 2 fire extinguishers there and simply use common sense. Also, I had my entire electrical system upgraded when I moved in. From the meter to the entire breaker box. It was very expensive, but it was worth every dime. So, no electrical fires and no kitchen fires. In other words, I just used common sense. I actually have 2 strikes against me for the Managerial Class: I heat with wood, and wood only, and I have a gas stove. I have no intentions of giving up either.

A couple of parting thoughts: I grew up in the 1970s and 80s. At the height of the threat of nuclear war, I was sitting with my family and my father was discussing it. My mother interjected and said (no lie, no exaggeration) ‘What about our insurance policy on the house? Won’t that cover it being destroyed?’. My dad looked at her and said: ‘The insurance companies will be just as destroyed and dead as everyone else’. I always remembered that.

You have no rights, none, within an insurance policy. You are at their mercy. Remember that.

Finally, here is an obscure essay written by: Henry James Sumner Maine, ‘From status to contract extract from “Ancient Law” (1861)

“The movement of the progressive societies has been uniform in one respect. Through all its course it has been distinguished by the gradual dissolution of family dependency and the growth of individual obligation in its place. The Individual is steadily substituted for the Family, as the unit of which civil laws take account. The advance has been accomplished at varying rates of celerity, and there are societies not absolutely stationary in which the collapse of the ancient organisation can only be perceived by careful study of the phenomena they present. But, whatever its pace, the change has not been subject to reaction or recoil, and apparent retardations will be found to have been occasioned through the absorption of archaic ideas and customs from some entirely foreign source. Nor is it difficult to see what is the tie between man and man which replaces by degrees those forms of reciprocity in rights and duties which have their origin in the Family. It is Contract.”

……We have gone from the status of ‘free men’, from our founding, to now having contracted our rights away via insurance and other such measures. Please reflect upon this. Thank you.

You are not required to have home insurance unless you have a mortgage. So, I would recommend people don’t take on a mortgage if the insurance is going to be used to control you.

      • Todd Campbell January 15, 2023 at 4:36 pm

Insurance is ALWAYS used to control you. It is a subsidy. People work it into their daily lives as a given. When the rules are changed, people simply comply because they can not do without it. Debt, and the consequences of debt, are now a reality with most people in the West and insurance is the vehicle through which government edicts are compelled.

The following link to a PowerPoint presentation gets into the weeds a little deeper:

Ron Clutz @ Sconce Matters sent me a link to your article after I left comments to These are the comments I left Ron:

The article said “It’s not about gas stoves, and it’s not about asthma – it’s about “indoor air pollution”, and more importantly how they plan on “regulating” it.”

Something more to regulate is certainly part of it but I think the end game is far bigger: removing alternatives to electricity.

The “electrify everything” cult knows that gas stoves are the consumer’s primary daily touch point with the direct use of natural gas. Consumers don’t see gas at work in their heating system, DHW system, etc. The “electrify everything” cult knows it will be much easier to get natural gas use out of people’s homes altogether if they could just get rid of those pesky stoves. This was acknowledged by speakers at EPRI’s “Electrification 2018” conference that I attended.

After that it really gets Orwellian. Uncle Ho (I mean Joe) will give you an extra ration of rice (I mean electricity) if you are properly cheerful and obedient.

25 years ago, I started warning this was coming. Now it’s quickly becoming our national energy policy

  • AL January 15, 2023 at 10:46 pm

What I see coming through the proposed elimination of gas is the ability to control the population. From a technical perspective gas is much more difficult and costly to remotely turn off. Electricity is easy to monitor and turn off. Same with cars. Electric cars have no possible way of hiding. You can’t pay cash for electrons. For the home all electric appliances can be controlled remotely. This does not mean they will make you freeze but could easily put the communist housing block on a standard temperature grid so to speak.

This is my theory but I don’t think it’s too far fetched. If the science does not support global warming (or whatever it’s called this year) then there is a real reason for the push to electrify everything. I say it’s about monitoring and possible control.

    • william smith January 16, 2023 at 6:38 pm

I agree AL your suppositions are not too far-fetched. It is about control.

  • Dennis Eldridge January 17, 2023 at 4:53 am

Brandon, I suggest you add one more fact to your list… the biggest fact of all. Those that say global temperatures are tied to carbon dioxide levels in our atmosphere are right. But they have it backwards. Carbon dioxide levels follow changes in temperature, not cause them. It takes about 800 years for a rise or fall in temperature to be measured in a change to the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. When global temperatures increase (due to solar output I might add), then the earth’s oceans release more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. When the global temperatures decrease, the oceans capture more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

I think commentators (of real news) are just too soft about the vermin gathering in Davos every year to further their totalitarian agenda and the destruction of our lives.

We have there mass murderers like (pfizer) and (moderna), Gates and Chinese puppet WHO tedros (accused of crimes vs humanity in hi country) the directors of Mi6 and CIA, war criminals like NATO Jens Stoltenberg, not counting all the scumbags in government who are committing high treason by going there to take their next roadmap against their constituents.

And by the way committing fraud as they use taxpayer money to fund a trip to a private organization.

We are not talking about creeps here but a mafia, a global criminal syndicate, people who have millions of deaths on their consciences.

As for Davos town who welcome these criminals every year, it is time to expose them for what they are: partners in crime.

    Things are getting rapidly worse…

  • Save Our United States January 19, 2023 at 6:09 pm

Does anyone notice that all of us are being corralled to use electricity for our energy? Just a thought, but it is easy monitor and control, to flip a switch and target individuals. Not so easily accomplished with stores of gasoline, diesel or natural gas. Also, electric suppliers are highly regulated by government entities so they have one foot in the door already. Easy to get the other foot in. Just a thought.

  • The thinker January 22, 2023 at 6:42 pm

The reason “green” energy is so expensive is because you have to maintain a backup source of energy i.e. coal or gas-fired power plant in order to keep the lights on at night or when the wind stops blowing. Therefore, there is no such thing as a zero carbon emitting building. The carbon is just being emitted somewhere else.

The sooner the mindless minions realize this, the better off we’ll all be.
